During a press conference Wednesday, President Joe Biden claims he has done a tremendous amount in his first year in office.
QUICK FACTS:
- Biden gave a one hour and fifty-three minute press conference at the White House Wednesday, answering questions from reporters and defending his administration despite a number of issues across the nation.
- When asked if he over promised Americans on the reality of what he could do in office, Biden firmly answered, “I didn’t overpromise. And I have probably outperformed what anybody thought would happen.”
- While he admitted his “Build Back Better” bill has been a failure thus far, he repeatedly blamed Republicans for opposing his agenda.
- Biden also claimed the COVID pandemic and natural disasters were the cause for record high inflation and supply chain shortages.
FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP ON BIDEN’S PRESS CONFERENCE:
“How come Biden picks a reporter off a list, in all cases softball questions, and then reads the answer?” I would never have been allowed to get away with that, nor would I have to!”
BACKGROUND:
- Wednesday’s press conference was only his 10th in the past year, far less than the number given by former President Trump, The Guardian said.
- Only a limited number of journalists were allotted access into the press conference, including a seating chart and Biden calling reporters names off of a pre-approved list.
- Critics of the marathon press conference thought it was anything but impressive, Fox News reported.
- “I’m not sure what planet he’s inhabiting but on planet earth his record is a record of failure,” echoed Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson.
