A Politico poll finds that more independent voters want to see the former president on the 2024 ballot.
QUICK FACTS:
- The Daily Caller reports that only 23% of independent voters think that President Joe Biden should run for re-election.
- By this metric, President Donald Trump holds a considerable lead over Biden, yet his numbers are also low, with only 31% of independents hoping for a Trump 2024 bid.
- While 67% of independents say that Biden should not seek re-election, 59% believe that Trump should not.
THE LATEST 2024 POLL:
- Among all registered voters, without regard to party affiliation, 43% say Biden should “definitely not” run, and 15% say that he “probably” should not.
- Though most oppose a Biden 2024 campaign, none of his likely replacements as the Democratic nominee comes close to a majority.
- Vice President Kamala Harris receives 31% from all registered voters and even less, 20%, from independents. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg comes in second to Harris.
- The poll surveyed 1,998 registered voters from Dec. 11-13 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
