Gretchen Whitmer Says She is ‘Not Apart of the Vetting’ For Vice Presidential Pick

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer confirmed this week that she is not apart of the vetting for the vice presidential pick.

“I have communicated with everyone, including the campaign, that I’ve made a commitment to serve out my term as governor in Michigan,” Whitmer told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday.

“I can be an excellent ally to President Harris and I can be a great co-chair of the Harris campaign from my place as governor. So I am not a part of the vetting,” she added.

“I am proud to be the governor of Michigan. I have been consistent,” she said. “I know everyone is always suspicious and asking this question over and over again. I am not going anywhere.”
