GOP Oversight Committee to Hold Wednesday Press Conference on Biden Family Business Investigation (Where to Watch)

WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-KY), alongside lawmakers from the panel, will hold a press conference on Wednesday, May 10 at 9:00 a.m. ET, according to a press release.

The press conference aims to provide an update on the investigation into the Biden family’s alleged influence peddling to enrich themselves and announce the next steps in the investigative process.

The press release states that the purpose of the investigation is to “determine if the Biden family has been targeted by foreign actors, if President Biden is compromised, and if there is a national security threat.”

To that end, the Committee has already acquired “thousands of pages of financial records related to the Biden family and their associates’ transactions.”

Recently, the Committee unveiled a deal that involved “several members of the Biden family and their companies receiving over $1 million in more than 15 incremental payments from a Chinese company through a third party.”

This revelation has added fuel to the ongoing investigation.

The press conference, which will be held in House Radio-TV Gallery Studio A (HVC 117), is expected to be attended by Chairman Comer and other Oversight Committee Republicans.

The event will be livestreamed here for those interested in following the updates and announcements related to the investigation.

The U.S. House of Representatives is conducting an ongoing investigation called the ‘Oversight Committee on Biden Family Business Investigation.’

This investigation is centered around allegations of Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s foreign business practices and international influence peddling schemes.

The investigation, led by Comer and Oversight Committee Republicans, is aimed at determining whether these activities pose a threat to U.S. national security and President Biden’s ability to lead impartially.

The committee is also considering drafting legislation to strengthen federal ethics laws regarding public officials and their families.

Additionally, the committee is gathering further bank records to unravel the complex web of financial transactions associated with the Bidens, in order to determine if they have been targeted by foreign actors and if there is a potential national security risk.

Rep. Comer stressed the importance of a whistleblower’s credible and legally protected information during a recent interview on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

The information reportedly suggests that then-Vice President Biden may have participated in a bribery scheme with a foreign national.

In the interview, Comer explained that he and his team have “reviewed this whistleblower disclosure” and “find it very credible.”

“We have a lot of questions about whether the FBI even looked into this,” the Kentucky representative went on to say. “We take our whistleblowers very seriously. There have been two very credible whistleblowers come forward in the last two weeks. We are doing everything we can to protect these whistleblowers and to try to encourage more whistleblowers to come forward. We know the FBI has the claim. We want to know what the FBI has done to verify the claim.”
