Former Dem Mayor and Biden Donor Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Possession

The Democrat claimed, “we make mistakes.”

QUICK FACTS:
  • Dennis “Denny” Doyle, a former mayor of Oregon and supporter of Joe Biden, pled guilty to one count of possessing child pornography after being detained in March.
  • The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s inquiry into pornographic photos of children who had been sexually exploited led to Doyle’s Tuesday admission of guilt.
  • Doyle remarked upon his way out of the courtroom, “You know, we make mistakes,” and reportedly told the judge he was “in counseling.”
PUNISHMENTS FOR THE POLITICIAN:
  • Doyle faces a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, in addition to being banned from holding office.
  • Doyle has been out of custody since his arrest and will remain as such pending his sentencing.
  • He was prohibited from having any direct or indirect contact with anyone under the age of 18 by a federal magistrate judge in March. That included him being able to see his grandkids, who range in age from 5 to 14, unless he had permission from a pretrial supervision officer.
  • Furthermore, Doyle was instructed to comply with a ban on the use and possession of any computers, or electronic devices with an internet connection, including cell phones, and to consent to random or ongoing monitoring of his computer use.
  • He was instructed not to join any charity or volunteer organization that might put him in contact with anyone under the age of 18.
BACKGROUND:
  • Another donor to the Biden campaign received negative media attention for saying that his audience “doesn’t care” about the genocide of the Uyghur people in China.
  • Chamath Palihapitiya, co-owner of the Golden State Warriors, brushed off the topic of genocide and enslavement in China during a podcast, as American Faith reported in January of this year.
