Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, recently chosen as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, is set to headline a fundraiser in Newport Beach on August 13.
This event, hosted by several prominent figures, is part of the Democratic ticket’s effort to raise funds, with ticket prices ranging from $1,000 to $100,000.
This fundraiser comes just a week after Walz was selected for the Democratic presidential ticket, following President Joe Biden’s decision not to seek re-election. The event location remains undisclosed and will be provided upon RSVP.
Earlier the week, American Faith reported that several Christian groups have filed lawsuits against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), alleging he violated religious liberties.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Walz issued an executive order that allowed retailers to be opened at 50% capacity, although religious gatherings could only involve 10 people.
Two churches filed a lawsuit over the discriminatory order. Three other churches, supported by the Thomas Moore Society, also filed lawsuits over the matter.
Walz later agreed to allow churches to gather in the same capacity as the “least restricted secular business regulated by the order.”
Christian parents sued Walz in 2023 after he signed a bill that excluded religious universities holding to a statement of faith from receiving funding from a state program. The case is ongoing.
Walz has been involved in several other bills that are an affront to Christian values.
