Dem VP Pick Tim Walz Violated Religious Liberties

Several Christian groups have filed lawsuits against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), alleging he violated religious liberties.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Walz issued an executive order that allowed retailers to be opened at 50% capacity, although religious gatherings could only involve 10 people.

Two churches filed a lawsuit over the discriminatory order. Three other churches, supported by the Thomas Moore Society, also filed lawsuits over the matter.

Walz later agreed to allow churches to gather in the same capacity as the “least restricted secular business regulated by the order.”

Christian parents sued Walz in 2023 after he signed a bill that excluded religious universities holding to a statement of faith from receiving funding from a state program. The case is ongoing.

Walz has been involved in several other bills that are an affront to Christian values.

In 2023, Walz signed a bill that ended protection for infants born alive after a botched abortion.

“First Gov. Walz and [Democratic-Farmer-Labor] majorities enacted abortion-up-to-birth, a policy at odds with the vast majority of the world,” Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) Co-Executive Director Cathy Blaeser said. “Now, somehow, they have gone even further. They have revoked a law that requires lifesaving care for newborns. And they have wiped out the Positive Alternatives program that supports pregnant women in difficult circumstances. Babies and women are both harmed by this sweeping extremism.”

Walz also signed a bill that resulted in Minnesota becoming a transgender sanctuary state.

House File 146 prevented state courts from “complying with child removal requests, extraditions, arrests, or subpoenas related to gender-affirming health care that a person receives in Minnesota,” according to a press statement.

Faith & Freedom Coalition Executive Director Timothy Head condemned Walz as Harris’ running mate.

“As Governor, he enshrined abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, enacted the ‘Trans Refuge’ bill to criminalize therapy for same-sex attracted individuals and promote access to sex-change surgeries and cross-sex hormone treatments for minors, even inviting a 12-year-old ‘transgender’ child to be present at the bill signing,” he said.

“Equally concerning is Walz’s targeting of parochial schools, whose ability to offer free college credits to high school students he ended if they required students to sign a statement of faith,” he continued, adding, Simply put, Tim Walz cannot be counted on to stand up to protect communities when they need it most. He cannot be counted on to protect people of faith. “In many ways, his policies and leadership are ruining Minnesota and as Kamala Harris’ Vice President, he would do the same thing to our nation.”
