Dallas School District Releases LGBTQ Resource Guide

Dallas Independent School District (ISD) released an LGBTQ guide that explains how a student may “transition” genders, practice chest binding, and receive gender-affirming care.

The document, titled, “LGBTQ+ Resources for Dallas ISD & Surrounding Communities,” describes strategies for “coming out,” places for transgender support, youth organizations, and transition guides.

The guide was originally shared in 2021 but was recently obtained by The Dallas Express through an open records request.

“It is critical that LGBTQ+ youth have access to affirming and inclusive care with medical providers,” the guide says in a section called “Tips on Screening Potential Providers for LGBTQ+-inclusiveness.”

Another section is called “Myths & Facts About Trans Youth.”

Some of the “myths” include “it’s not a real thing because it only recently started happening,” “it’s a mental illness,” and “surgeries and medications are damaging.”

Some of the apps the guide recommends include “Refuge Restrooms,” “Solace LGBT,” and “Sowlmate: LGBT Courses & Diary.”

“Refuse Restrooms” details “safe restrooms for transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming individuals,” according to the document.

The document discusses several advocacy efforts promoting transgenderism, including “banning sexual orientation and gender identity change efforts,” “opposing criminalizing gender affirmative care with minors,” “opposing religious exemption bills,” and “supporting local universal restroom ordinances.”

A flyer called “Trans-Competent Healthcare Checklist” is listed in the document.

“Finding healthcare providers competent in providing affirming care to trans & gender-expansive folks can be challenging,” the flyer reads, going on to list questions relating to the clinic’s “welcoming environment,” “access to care,” experience” in assisting transgender individuals, and others.

American Faith reported that California’s Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) in the Bay Area is also pushing transgenderism among children through several resource recommendations centered on gender theory.

Documents detailing the resources were reviewed by The Daily Wire.

According to the outlet, the school district is encouraging students to watch films portraying transgenderism and puberty blockers through a guide called “LGBTQ Inclusive Films.”

The school district also has a booklist featuring “inclusive” vendors.

“One way to be actively anti-racist when we spend our money is to purchase from BIPOC-owned, women-owned and LGBTQIA+-owned businesses,” the document says.
