A cruise line company is offering a 4-year trip to Americans looking to flee President-elect Donald Trump’s second term.
Villa Vie Residences announced its Tour La Vie program, a four-year world cruise.
“With over 425 ports across 140 countries, each circumnavigation presents an unprecedented opportunity to discover the world from their floating home with ever-changing backyards,” a press release says.
Mikael Petterson, Chief Executive Officer of Villa Vie Residences, said in a statement, “A perfect Circumnavigation is different for every resident as we pick up new adventurers along the way in every port.” The program offers stays such as a 1-Year Escape from Reality, a 2-Year Mid-Term Selection, a 3-Year Everywhere but Home, and a 4-Year Skip Forward.
The program starts at just under $40,000 per year. The price for the full four years starts at $256,000 for single-occupancy cabins.
Petterson told Newsweek that the marketing campaign was decided “before we even knew who would win. Regardless of who would have won, you would have half of the population upset.”
“Quite frankly, we don’t have a political view one way or the other. We just wanted to give people who feel threatened to have a way to get out,” he said.
