Conservatives Criticize DeSantis After He Says Trump ‘Lost’ 2020 Election

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has been criticized by conservatives after he offered a statement on the 2020 election.

Speaking with NBC News, DeSantis said, “Of course he [Trump] lost…Joe Biden’s the president.”

The statement conflicts with the widely held beliefs of many conservatives.

According to a Rasmussen poll, 54% of likely voters believe the 2024 presidential election will be met with cheating and fraud.

DeSantis’ view will likely hurt his polls.

Already, the Republican candidate has fallen in primary polls, with Trump leading the GOP by 39 points over DeSantis.

Reporting from RSBN:

In contrast to Gov. DeSantis’s seeming rejection of Trump’s claims that the election was stolen, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., professionally addressed the same issue in remarks to the press last week.

He said, “In America, you are ENTITLED to raise a question. You’re entitled to question whether it was honest or not. That’s the uniqueness of the First Amendment. That’s the uniqueness of America. But you know what? You shouldn’t be prosecuted for your thoughts.”
