Coca-Cola CEO Gifts Trump Personalized Diet Coke Ahead of Inauguration

Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey presented President-elect Donald Trump with a personalized Diet Coke bottle on Tuesday to commemorate his upcoming inauguration. The gift continues Coca-Cola’s tradition of marking U.S. presidential inaugurations with specially branded bottles.

The commemorative bottle, inscribed with the words, “Inauguration of President of the United States Donald J. Trump,” came in a red keepsake box. Trump’s deputy communications director, Margo Martin, shared photos on social media showing Trump smiling alongside Quincey during the presentation.

According to reports, the bottle was accompanied by a card highlighting Coca-Cola’s contributions to the U.S. economy. The note emphasized the company’s $55 billion in annual economic activity and the 860,000 jobs it supports nationwide. “We’re proud to continue our decades-long tradition of celebrating the U.S. presidential inauguration with a commemorative bottle,” the card read.

This tradition aligns with Coca-Cola’s long history of celebrating major cultural and political milestones in the United States. Previous inaugural bottles have been created for past presidents, including Barack Obama. Bottles from Obama’s inauguration have since become collectibles, with some reportedly selling for $50 each on online marketplaces like eBay.

Trump’s personalized Diet Coke holds additional significance, as he is known for his affinity for the beverage. The commemorative gift not only marks his historic inauguration but also highlights Coca-Cola’s effort to maintain strong ties with American leadership and national traditions.

The gesture was well-received, adding a lighter moment to the inaugural proceedings. Trump’s inauguration, set for Monday, has drawn significant attention as the president-elect prepares to implement his “America First” agenda.

The commemorative bottle underscores Coca-Cola’s enduring role in celebrating American culture, with this latest edition becoming a potential collector’s item for both political enthusiasts and Coca-Cola fans alike.
