Glen Rogers, infamously known as the “Casanova Killer,” is scheduled for execution on May 15, 2025, nearly 30 years after his 1995 murder spree. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the death warrant in April, marking the state’s fifth execution this year.
Rogers, 62, received his first death sentence in 1997 for the murder of 34-year-old Tina Marie Cribbs in Tampa. He met Cribbs at a bar, convinced her to drive him home, and later stabbed her to death in a motel room he had rented. Her body was discovered days later, and Rogers was arrested in Kentucky driving her stolen car.
In 1999, Rogers received a second death sentence in California for the murder of Sandra Gallagher. He met Gallagher at a Van Nuys bar, and her burned body was found in her truck near Rogers’ apartment the following day.
While in custody, Rogers claimed responsibility for the murders of 70 women, including high-profile cases like the 1994 killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. However, the Los Angeles Police Department dismissed these claims, stating they were confident someone else was responsible.
Rogers’ execution is part of Florida’s increased pace of capital punishment in 2025, with six executions scheduled so far this year. This marks a significant rise compared to previous years under Governor DeSantis’ administration.
Despite multiple appeals, Rogers’ conviction and death sentence have been upheld. His attorneys argued that he was abused as a child, but these claims were dismissed by the courts. Rogers is set to be executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison near Starke.
