Candace Owens Says She May Sue George Floyd’s Family After $250 Million Suit Filed Against Kanye

Candace Owens reacted to the $250 million lawsuit by the family of Black Lives Matter martyr figure George Floyd against rapper Kanye West by suggesting that she may sue the money-grubbing clan for what she described as a “PR stunt” that has caused her emotional distress.

On Wednesday’s edition of her daily podcast, the conservative commentator weighed in on the “frivolous” suit brought against the embattled West whose right to freedom of speech has been under attack since he showed up at a Paris fashion show along with Owens wearing shirts with the words “White Lives Matter” and later in the same week, sat down for an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

West would subsequently be silenced on social media over controversial remarks about Jewish people but it was his expression of his opinion that the career criminal and drug addict wasn’t murdered by former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin while resisting arrest but rather perished as a result of a fentanyl overdose that cracked open the door to the abuse of the legal system to go after him, a common tactic of the ruthless and vindictive left.

“I’m also sick of frivolous lawsuits,” Owens said. “You know, if this is actually considered credible, if you can sue somebody because you’re feeling emotionally distressed because of them going out and saying things, well then I think that I have grounds to sue George Floyd’s estate. I have grounds to sue George Floyd’s family for doing this little PR stunt.”

“It’s causing me a ton of distress. I feel angry and I feel upset with the fact that I am fighting for black America to be freed from the lies while these people are fighting to keep them in the dark,” Owens continued.

“This is unacceptable. I’m really, I’m serious. I’m going to go out and I’m going to ask lawyers ‘If this is legitimate, can I sue George Floyd’s family?’ Because I should be able to,” she said.

“In fact, we should be able to sue Black Lives Matter,” she added. “We should be able to sue the media that is clearly colluding with George Floyd’s family so that they can bury the evidence.

“Nobody is going to shut up and I will fight tooth and nail for people to see the truth,” Owens said.

West’s remarks about Floyd, which he said were based on material in Owens’ documentary “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM,” were made during an episode of the “Drink Champs” podcast which has since deleted the interview that still exists elsewhere – at least for now.

“While one cannot defame the dead, the family of #GeorgeFloyd is considering suit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death,” civil rights attorney Lee Merritt who represented Floyd’s family wrote on Twitter. “Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl not the brutality established criminally and civilly undermines & diminishes the Floyd family’s fight.”

“George Floyd had a lethal amount of fentanyl in his system,” Owens said in her own Twitter post. “Launching frivolous lawsuits does not change the facts.”

“George Floyd’s family knows this— they are just trying to keep the narrative going and using Ye’s to do it,” she added. “Black America will be freed from the lies.”
