CA University Partners with Disney, U.S. State Department to Finance Pro-Abortion Films

The University of Southern California’s communication school, partnered with the Walt Disney Company, announced it would now fund pro-abortion propaganda productions.

QUICK FACTS:
  • USC Annenberg, a school for communication and journalism, along with its partner Disney, announced the “Annenberg Inclusion Initiative (AI2),” is aiming to fund pro-abortion propaganda films, The Blaze reported.
  • Over the past year, AI2 has introduced a number of programs that grant money to film students because of their sex and race, including the “Reproductive Rights Accelerator,” which awards $25,000 stipends to students who “have a story to tell about reproductive rights.”
  • Stacy Smith, the founder of AI2, explained that her goal “is to illuminate how many opportunities there are to use storytelling as a tool to expand the conversation and create substantial attitude and policy change.”

“Entertainment has a unique ability to reach viewers and provide that education,” SMITH SAID.

BACKGROUND:
  • In June 2022, following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v Wade, Disney, along with a number of top entertainment giants, vowed to pay travel expenses for employees looking to get abortions.
  • According to a Disney spokesperson at the time, the company told employees that it understands the impact of the abortion ruling, but remains committed to providing access to quality healthcare – including family planning and reproductive care, Reuters reported.
  • “Please know that our company remains committed to removing barriers and providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care for all of our employees, cast members and their families, including family planning and reproductive care, no matter where they live,” Disney said at the time.
