Ark. Gov. Hutchinson: Vaccine Mandates Are Unconstitutional

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) is ramping up pressure against Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates. In an interview on Sunday, the governor said people must not be forced or intimidated into getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

“These mandates are unconstitutional overreaches, and the courts are looking at it in that fashion,” said Hutchinson.

He stressed Americans must be able to make health decisions for themselves. Hutchinson also pointed out such mandates are causing economic hardship for millions of Americans.

“But let’s let them make that decision. And of course people can make decisions as to where they want to go, but to put the mandate in is unprecedented, it’s going to cause hardship and it’s going to cause division in our country as you can already see,” Hutchinson continued. “But the mandates I think you’ll see are going to cause even greater hardship and the court’s going to take a look at it.”

Hutchinson stressed vaccine mandates are divisive, politicized and not good for the country, adding such policies have no place in Arkansas.
