28-Year-Old Transgender Shooter Kills 6, Including 3 Children, 3 School Staff at Nashville Christian School: Shooter Dead

A tragic incident involving a 28-year-old white transgender-identified shooter has left seven people dead, including themselves, in Green Hills, Nashville, Tennessee, WKRN.

The shooter, a biological female, entered into Covenant School through a side door and was armed with two rifles and a handgun.

Two of the deceased children were nine years old, one was eight.

The shooter has been identified as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a Nashville resident, according to Fox News.

Hale, who identified as a transgender male, made way to the second floor of the building, firing multiple times.

Police were called to the scene at 10:13 am CT before engaging the shooter on the second floor.

The shooter, who attended Covenant at some point in the past, according to Nashville Police Chief John Drake, was killed at 10:27, fourteen minutes after police were alerted.

Drake also indicated that a “manifesto” and a map of the school grounds had been found at Hale’s home.

The Covenant School, located at 33 Burton Hills Boulevard, was the site of the incident, according to the Nashville Fire Department.

Multiple patients were treated by the department’s medics.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) reported that officers engaged the shooter, who has since died.

Three children who were taken to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt with gunshot wounds have also passed away from their injuries, according to a spokesperson for the hospital.

In response to the situation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Nashville has sent a team to assist the MNPD.

The fire department has established a reunification area at Woodmont Baptist Church, located at 2100 Woodmont Boulevard, for parents to meet their children who attend The Covenant School.
