Former Colorado elections clerk Tina Peters has been offered a job in Shasta County, California, following her release from prison surrounding an election security case.
Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis said he wants Peters to take the role of Assistant Registrar of Voters, as the current individual in the position has been on medical leave, KRCR reports. “Probably because the county is so slow in hiring, we will probably bring her in on a contract basis, instead of an employee basis,” Curtis said. “Because if they want to slow me down they can slow me down for six months that way.”
“We will deal with whatever restrictions she has to do whatever other plans she has available, and she can come in and get this thing knocked out,” added Curtis. He further noted, “You know she speaks with the president on a personal level. Which is going to be really handy considering the Antifa group we deal with here.”
Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis commuted Peters’ term on May 15, cutting it in half and making her eligible for release today. The move came after months of escalating pressure from President Trump, who championed Peters’ case publicly but lacked the constitutional authority to pardon her because she was convicted under state, not federal, law.
President Trump pardoned Tina Peters, who was convicted of election interference in 2024, in December. Peters was sentenced to nine years in prison over charges related to the 2020 election. She was found guilty on counts related to failing to comply with the Colorado Secretary of State in relation to issues surrounding the Dominion Voting Systems voting machines.
“Democrats have been relentless in their targeting of TINA PETERS, a Patriot who simply wanted to make sure that our Elections were Fair and Honest,” he wrote on Truth Social at the time. “Tina is sitting in a Colorado prison for the ‘crime’ of demanding Honest Elections. Today I am granting Tina a full Pardon for her attempts to expose Voter Fraud in the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election!”
