Grenade Attack Chaos: Masked Assailant Terrorizes French Salon

A violent grenade attack rocked the city of Grenoble in southeastern France after a masked assailant hurled an explosive into a busy beauty salon, injuring six people, including a five-year-old child. The incident unfolded in broad daylight and was captured on disturbing video that shows panic erupting inside the small business. Witnesses described scenes of fear, confusion, and blood as victims scrambled to escape.

Footage from the grenade attack shows a hooded man dressed in black forcing his way into the salon while struggling with a woman at the entrance. The suspect can be seen pulling a grenade from between his legs, removing the pin, and throwing it inside before slamming the door shut. Moments later, the grenade detonated as the suspect fled with a group of accomplices.

Alain, a neighbor who lives nearby, recalled hearing a “monstrous boom” before rushing outside. “We saw people screaming, covered in blood and panicking,” he said. Another salon owner, Julie Esthétique, told France 3 Isère, “I heard a huge explosion and three young girls screaming; they were with a child.” She added, “There are so many people, and it’s complete chaos.”

Emergency crews treated six wounded individuals at the scene, all suffering minor injuries. Police confirmed they are searching for at least two suspects and have not yet established a motive. Grenoble prosecutor Etienne Manteaux said, “This is not a device intended to kill,” adding that the act represented “an escalation in the disinhibition of criminals.”

The grenade attack echoes a similar incident last year in Grenoble that injured 15 people and raised renewed concerns about public safety.
