CCP Land concerns are intensifying after reports revealed that two golf courses bordering Louisiana’s Barksdale Air Force Base are owned by a figure tied to the Chinese Communist Party. National security experts warn the proximity of CCP land holdings to one of America’s most critical military installations presents a serious intelligence and security risk.
The Daily Caller first reported that the properties are owned by Eugene Ji, a Chinese-American businessman who has held multiple roles within the Chinese government. Barksdale Air Force Base oversees key components of the U.S. nuclear mission, raising immediate red flags among defense analysts. Josh Hodges of the U.S.–China Economic and Security Review Commission said, “This investigation is yet another wake-up call,” warning that the CCP exploits “blind spots near our most sensitive military installations.”
Hodges cited the commission’s November 2025 report, which highlighted threats linked to Chinese cyber and infrastructure operations, including Volt Typhoon. He said the situation shows it is “long past due for the U.S. to revamp our counterintelligence efforts.”
Ji has reportedly served within the United Front Work Department, which Republicans have labeled a CCP “disinformation network.” Michael Lucci of State Armor said, “A Chinese intelligence official with huge property purchases next to Barksdale Air Force Base is proof positive that Chinese land acquisitions are strategic and malicious.”
Former Trump administration official Joe Grogan called the situation dangerous. “It is unthinkable that agents of communist China could be allowed to take possession of property so close to one of our nation’s most vital strategic assets,” Grogan said. He added, “We can’t confuse this insidious incursion with free enterprise.”
Experts argue the CCP land issue underscores the need for coordinated federal and state action to block hostile foreign influence before vulnerabilities deepen.
