Bobby Pulido Congress Bid Hit by Explicit Posts

Bobby Pulido, a Latin Grammy-winning Tejano singer now running for Congress in Texas, is under scrutiny as past social media posts featuring pornographic links and crude comments resurface. Pulido is seeking the Democrat nomination in Texas’ 15th Congressional District, a socially conservative region that helped elect Republican Rep. Monica De La Cruz in 2022 by a 14-point margin.

Pulido announced his candidacy earlier this month, claiming South Texas “deserves a champion” who listens and fights for families. But some voters may question that image, following reports that his Twitter/X account previously shared explicit content. According to a Fox News investigation, Pulido’s posts between 2013 and 2024 included multiple references to pornographic websites, including YouPorn and XVideos.

In 2013, Pulido tweeted a recommendation to visit YouPorn “if bored” and questioned if musicians featured in adult content were earning royalties. Another post that year shared a link to XVideos with the caption, “homemade porn while sleep-deprived?”

In 2014, he stated in Spanish, “It’s impossible to have Twitter and not watch porn.” In 2016, he joked about alternatives to XVideos after its temporary shutdown, writing, “that’s what they’ve told me.” A now-deleted 2015 post linked to YouPorn, which Pulido later claimed was the result of a hack.

These revelations could pose a serious challenge for Pulido, who is running in a district where family values and religious convictions carry political weight. If Pulido defeats emergency physician Dr. Ada Cuellar in the Democrat primary, he would face incumbent Republican Monica De La Cruz, who has emphasized border security, law enforcement, and economic development in her campaign.

De La Cruz responded to questions about the race by reaffirming her commitment to South Texas priorities, highlighting her record on strengthening border security and supporting local agriculture. A recent poll from Public Policy Polling, commissioned by the Democrat-aligned House Majority PAC, shows De La Cruz with a narrow three-point lead over potential challengers, though 21 percent of voters remain undecided.

Primary voting in Texas is scheduled for March 3, 2026.
