Fetterman Urges ‘No Mercy’ Approach to Iran

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has called on Israel to adopt a no mercy strategy in dealing with Iran, urging direct action against Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei. The Pennsylvania Democrat endorsed a military campaign similar to Israel’s reported assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

“Yes, just like Nasrallah,” Fetterman told the Washington Free Beacon when asked whether Israel should target Khamenei. He added, “In fact, it should have been when Israel began to dismantle Iran.” Fetterman praised Israel’s recent military actions, crediting them with weakening major Iranian proxies across the region.

“Consider what Israel has accomplished: crushed Hamas, same with Houthis, and neutered Hezbollah. Syria fell. All of the so-called experts were absolutely wrong,” he said. “Iran turned out as the ultimate paper tiger and needs to be put away.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking to ABC News, refused to rule out a strike against Khamenei. Israeli journalist Amit Segal reported that Khamenei is struggling under the pressure, citing a senior Israeli official who claimed, “Khamenei is in a difficult mental state. Everyone who worked with him is dead and he is having a hard time with their replacements.”

Fetterman also advocated for direct U.S. involvement in any military action aimed at Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. “We should join Israel to fully destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities,” he said. President Donald Trump recently stated such action is “possible.”

In a final message, Fetterman said Israel should “break and humiliate that cancerous regime,” underscoring his call for a no mercy approach to confronting Tehran.
