Over 75,000 Bottles of Coffee Creamer Recalled Following Reported Illness

The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for more than 75,000 bottles of International Delight coffee creamer following reports of illness and spoilage. The voluntary recall affects two popular flavors: hazelnut and Cinnabon classic cinnamon roll.

International Delight’s parent company initiated the recall after receiving consumer complaints, though it remains unclear how many people have fallen ill. The FDA urges consumers to immediately discard any affected creamers to avoid potential health risks.

The recalled Cinnabon classic cinnamon roll creamer comes in 32-fluid-ounce bottles with a UPC code of 0 41271 01993 3 and a best-by date of July 3. The hazelnut creamer, also in 32-fluid-ounce bottles, has a UPC code of 0 41271 02565 2 and a best-by date of July 2.

These products were distributed to more than 30 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Consumers who purchased these creamers should check their bottles for the affected UPC codes and best-by dates and dispose of them immediately.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a recall of multiple over-the-counter acne treatments due to the presence of benzene, a chemical linked to cancer. Retailers have been instructed to remove the affected products from shelves and online marketplaces.

Benzene, identified in the recalled products, is associated with leukemia and other blood disorders, according to the National Cancer Institute. While not an intentional ingredient, benzene can form as a byproduct of the manufacturing process in benzoyl peroxide-based acne treatments.
