A policy advisor at the U.S. Treasury admitted to an O’Keefe Media Group (OMG) undercover reporter that he knows a few officials who are actively resisting Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
As previously reported by The Gateway Pundit, a group of young prodigies, aged between 19 and 24, is leading a transformative project under Musk’s leadership to slash federal spending. Within weeks of its formation, the DOGE team has made significant inroads in reforming government operations, focusing on modernizing federal technology and software to maximize efficiency.
However, the initiative has faced fierce resistance from the left-wing media and elements within the federal bureaucracy. The Democrat-media complex is reportedly “freaking out” over the DOGE team’s mission to eliminate government waste and corruption.
Nathaniel Johnson, a policy advisor for the U.S. Treasury, told an undercover OMG journalist that he personally knows some officials who are resisting the DOGE initiative.
“There’s a class of people in this country who care more about the money than they do about the country,” Johnson stated. He acknowledged that while Musk’s push for mass layoffs is framed as a cost-saving measure, some see it as driven by greed. “He’s showing what he really cares about is money,” Johnson claimed. However, he conceded that many Treasury employees deserve to be fired, saying Musk is targeting those “who don’t do their jobs.”
Johnson went further, admitting, “I know a few of them. There are people that I know who’ve been working for the government for, like, 40 years. And they don’t do much.”
Beyond layoffs, Johnson revealed a culture of defiance within the Treasury Department. “No one’s quitting because everyone’s dug in their feet,” he said, suggesting that many officials are refusing to leave voluntarily.
Additionally, Johnson expressed concerns about DOGE’s access to Treasury systems, citing unspecified “risks” to national security. “No one knows what they [DOGE] want to do with the system,” he alleged, speculating that Musk “probably shouldn’t have access” to sensitive files due to potential data leaks.
OMG reached out to Johnson for comment, but he declined to be named in the report. When pressed, he maintained his position, leading James O’Keefe to state, “I am going to do this story, with or without your permission.” Johnson ultimately ended the conversation without further comment.
