NBC News reported that Biden administration officials, including those from intelligence agencies and the Secret Service, have informed President Trump that they cannot guarantee his safety from potential assassins while golfing.
As a result, Trump has been effectively forced to suspend playing golf until after the election.
During discussions with Secret Service acting director Ronald Rowe and intelligence officials, Trump was told that additional security would be required, especially due to the proximity of some of his golf courses to public roads.
This restriction marks a significant change in Trump’s lifestyle, as he has frequently played golf throughout his presidency and campaigns, owning 18 golf properties worldwide.
It remains uncertain whether Trump will be able to continue golfing with this heightened security concern.
