The C40 Cities’ agenda may lead to thousands of deaths due to lack of nutrition.
QUICK FACTS:
- Fourteen cities in the United States are part of a plan to weed out meat and dairy products and private vehicle ownership.
- The goal is to implement certain “targets” by 2030.
- American cities involved in the agenda include Austin, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.
- Some of the “ambitious targets” described by C40 include 0kg of meat consumption, 0kg of dairy consumption, 0% household food waste, and 0 private vehicles.
- The move follows policies to combat the so-called “climate crisis.”
- By the year 2030, C40 cities also hope to limit clothing purchases to “3 new clothing items per person per year” and have only “1 short-haul return flight (less than 1500 km) every 3 years per person,” according to a document titled ‘The Future of Urban Consumption in a 1.5°C World’ (see below).
- The organization’s board president is Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg.
- These targets are associated with the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) so-called “Great Reset,” commonly connected with the phrase, “You’ll own nothing. And you’ll be happy.”
FROM THE C40 REPORT:
- Because the radical targets are considered “ambitious,” the report “does not advocate for the wholesale adoption of these more ambitious targets in C40 cities; rather, they are included to provide a set of reference points that cities, and other actors, can reflect on when considering different emission-reduction alternatives and long-term urban visions.”
- Nonetheless, the targets are “based on a future vision of resource-efficient production and extensive changes in consumer choices,” according to the report.
- The report, originally published in 2019, was popularized in 2023 after several cities began taking action to begin implementing the targets described.
- It states, “The report demonstrates that mayors have an even bigger role and opportunity to help avert climate emergency than previously thought.”
BACKGROUND:
- The WEF recently discussed ideas for supporting “the global transition to a green and renewable economy” during the Annual Meeting of the New Champions held in Tianjin, China, in June.
- According to a Twitter post, nearly 1500 participants attended the 14th annual meeting with an effort to “boost multilateralism and collaboration in a fragmented world.”
- The main messaging at the event was a push for nations to accept Central Banking Digital Currency and wearable data-harvesting sensors.
- The end of the event called for “greater solidarity to overcome global challenges,” according to Chinese embassy official in Pakistan Zhang Heqing.
