Zelensky Demands $40 Billion Annually

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told G7 leaders that Ukraine requires at least $40 billion annually in budgetary support to sustain its resistance against Russia. He urged a unified commitment from Western allies, including the U.S. and G7 nations, as essential for resilience and national defense.

Zelensky emphasized that this funding is vital to ensure Ukraine’s resilience and the ability to continue to fight. He described it as crucial during the G7 meeting in Canada, stressing the importance of combined G7 and U.S. accountability.

Since Russia’s invasion in 2022, the United States has sent nearly $185 billion to Ukraine—$89.5 billion allocated, $58.3 billion committed but not delivered, and $34.3 billion appropriated. Despite this staggering level of support, Zelensky continues to demand more, urging even greater pressure on Moscow and calling on President Trump to intervene. Ukraine is not owed endless American tax dollars, especially with no commitment to repayment and no clear end to the conflict.

While Ukraine’s cause involves resisting tyranny, Washington must put American interests first. The repeated demands for tens of billions in foreign aid—while U.S. borders remain unsecured, veterans go underserved, and debt climbs—reveal misplaced priorities. Hardworking taxpayers should not be expected to bankroll endless foreign wars without clear victories or exit strategies.

Congress must hold firm. No more blank checks. If allies believe Ukraine’s defense is vital, they should match or exceed U.S. contributions. American resources should serve the nation’s own people first, not fund open-ended commitments abroad driven by globalist agendas.
