Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) announced that she plans to run for the U.S. Senate, aiming to take Sen. Cynthia Lummis’s seat. Lummis announced last week that she will not be seeking reelection.
Discussing her plan to run with Cowboy State Daily, Hageman said she weighed “what is the best thing I can do to serve the state of Wyoming.” She further explained that her focus is on the upper chamber because “so much of the bad policy that’s affected Wyoming over the last 20 years has come out of Washington, D.C.”
“Cynthia Lummis has been such a strong leader in the Senate, and the House before that,” Hageman added to the outlet. “And I think it’s important that we have someone who can hit the ground running the moment she retires. That’s not the place for on-the-job training.”
“Highly Respected Congresswoman, Harriet Hageman, is running for the United States Senate in the Great State of Wyoming, a place I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024!” President Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I know Harriet well, and she is a TOTAL WINNER! Harriet has ALWAYS delivered for Wyoming, and will continue to do so in the United States Senate. She will fight tirelessly to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Advance American Energy DOMINANCE, Champion our Amazing Farmers and Ranchers, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Support our Incredible Military/Veterans, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.”
“Harriet Hageman has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be your next Senator — SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
