Wikipedia removed a page for Rosemont Seneca Partners this past Thursday, arguing that it was “not notable,” archived comments from its Talk Page reveal. The investment company co-founded by Hunter Biden has been the subject of numerous controversies involving business dealings with foreign powers.
“This organization is only mentioned in connection with its famous founders, Hunter Biden and Christopher Heinz,” said a Wikipedia editor identified only as Alex. The editor went on to say that “keeping it around” could turn the page into “a magnet for conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden.”
Wikipedia even ruled against including the investment company as a subsection on Hunter Biden’s main page.
Last year, Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger said the site has become so tainted by bias that it can now be considered “propaganda.”
“There’s a very big, nasty, complex game being played behind the scenes to make the article say what somebody wants them to say,” Sanger said.
Curtis Houck, who serves as Managing Editor of the Media Research Center, said the Rosemont Seneca Partners decision illustrates a double standard and left-wing political bias. “If a Trump-linked company had its Wikipedia page wiped or one from the Russia probe, it’s more than a safe bet to say that CNN would be dedicating multiple reporters to following the internet trail,” Houck told the New York Post.
Rosemont Seneca Partners was founded in 2009 as a private equity business. Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, along with John Kerry’s stepson Christopher Heinz, founded the company with a friend, Devon Archer. An email obtained as part of a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) probe suggests that Rosemont described itself as a $2.4 billion private equity firm co-owned by Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz, with Archer as “Managing Partner.”
Archer was sentenced to one year in prison earlier this year in connection with a fraud scheme to defraud a Native American tribe of close to $60 million in bonds.
