The White House launched a new app to make the Trump administration more accessible to the American people. The app “offers Americans a direct line to the White House — cutting through the noise with unfiltered, real-time updates straight from the source,” the White House said.
Through the app, Americans can receive breaking news alerts, watch live streams, explore a media library, and more. The app also includes a tip line to support immigration enforcement activities and a means to communicate about policies, ideas, and other matters. Also featured on the apps are investments from both U.S. companies and foreign entities, a list of the cost of common items, and border releases, which currently reads at zero.
The app’s launch serves as the latest White House endeavor to reach Americans. It previously launched a “Media Bias Offender Tip Line,” encouraging Americans to report instances of media bias. “Its purpose is to combat the baseless lies, purposely omitted context, and outright left-wing lunacy of the Fake News Media — a tall task that demands the help of everyone who believes in facts and accuracy over Fake News,” the website explains. “That’s why the White House is calling on everyday Americans to support the truth and hold the Fake News accountable.”
The tip line expands upon the White House’s media bias portal. The database is designed to catalogue the “avalanche of lies, deliberate distortions, and manufactured hoaxes churned out by activist ‘journalists’ and their failing outlets.” The site lists the media’s “offense” versus the “truth.”
The Trump administration has also changed a Biden-era website to discuss the “true origins” of the COVID-19 virus. The website previously included information on how to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
