White Assistant Dean At Brandeis University Calls Herself Racist

A white university official called all white people implicitly racist and, in the process, herself.

Brandeis University Assistant Dean Kate Slater said this week she despises “whiteness” and believes “all white people are racist” in a fiery Instagram post.

“Yes, all White people are racist in that all White people have been conditioned in a society where one’s racial identity determines life experiences/outcomes and Whiteness is the norm and the default. That includes me!’” Slater wrote. “I don’t hate white people – I hate whiteness.”

Below is the post obtained by The Federalist.

Slater has since made her account private. Brandeis University did not respond to The Federalist’s request for comment. Her comments came days before the one-year anniversary of the death of George Floyd.

The university leader’s personal website says she “investigates White racial identity formation and how racism operates individually, organizationally, and systemically” and “leads facilitations, trainings, and affinity groups with K-12 institutions and universities, as well as with numerous private organizations.”
