Walz-Backed Rules Attack Teachers with Christian Values

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) passed teacher licensing rules, soon to take effect, that require public school teachers to affirm anti-Christian values.

Beginning July 2025, teacher licensing applicants will be required to “affirm transgenderism and race Marxism,” according to a report from The Federalist.

According to the requirements, teachers are to foster an “environment that ensures student identities such as race/ethnicity, national origin, language, sex and gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical/developmental/emotional ability, socioeconomic class, and religious beliefs are historically and socially contextualized, affirmed, and incorporated into a learning environment where students are empowered to learn and contribute as their whole selves.”

The Federalist warns that should Walz become the Vice President of the United States, similar “bigoted, totalitarian and unconstitutional policies” could be had across the nation.

The report added that those faithful to Christianity “cannot in good conscience ‘affirm’ non-heterosexual sexual orientations and gender identities.”

As a result of the policies, teacher requirements force “Christians, Muslims, Jews, and adherents to other religions to violate their faith” if they choose to work in a public school.

Since 2020, Minnesota has required educators to undergo “cultural competency training.” Educators are to exhibit “evidence of self-reflection and discussion” of “systemic racism,” “gender identity,” “sexual orientation,” and other topics.
