VP Harris Draws Ire on Social Media for Missing Point of Puerto Rican Protest Song

Vice President Kamala Harris faced ridicule on social media after a viral video captured her applauding a protest song aimed at her during her visit to Puerto Rico. The incident occurred as Harris toured the island nation to highlight the Biden administration’s support for its recovery from natural disasters and economic challenges.

Protesters at the Goyoco community center in San Juan’s Santurce neighborhood greeted Harris with disapproval, singing Spanish songs with pointed lyrics directed at her. They questioned her purpose for visiting and expressed solidarity with other causes, including Palestine and Haiti.

Despite the pointed lyrics, Harris appeared oblivious as she smiled and applauded until an aide alerted her, prompting her to adopt a more serious demeanor and lower her hands

Following the circulation of the viral video, social media users criticized Harris for failing to grasp the protesters’ intent. Some labeled her as incompetent and questioned her qualifications, while others mocked her lack of awareness.

Critics on social media lambasted Harris, with one calling her the “dumbest person on the planet” and another dubbing her an “absolute loser.” Some questioned her competence, while others ridiculed her obliviousness to the protesters’ message.

The incident added fuel to existing criticisms of Harris, with many portraying her as an embarrassment to the nation. Some characterized her as clueless and unfit for the role of vice president.
