Video Shows Hundreds of Mostly Single Adults Crossing Border in Texas in One Day

Video captured over the weekend shows upwards of 700 illegal immigrants, most of whom appear to be single adults, crossing the border from Mexico into Eagle Pass, Texas in a single day.

The images are a startling reminder that the southern border remains vulnerable and the influx of those trying to enter the country illegally remains unabated.

Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin posted the video of hundreds of migrants crossing into Eagle Pass and noticed that the crowd consisted of “almost all single adults.”

Another video posted shortly thereafter shows another 200 or more “predominantly single adults” crossing in the same area.

Melugin notes that this part of the border section has seen approximately 400,000 illegal crossings since October alone, “bigger than [the population] of New Orleans.”

The images show almost exclusively young, able-bodied men making the trek across the border. All told, over 700 illegal immigrants were spotted crossing on Sunday according to Fox News.

The videos showing hundreds of border crossings in the span of one day come as Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) has claimed Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei offered help to the Biden administration but the President “won’t even call me.”

“I specifically asked the president of Guatemala, ‘Hey, what would it take in order for you to take more of these repatriation flights?’” Gonzales said in a recent radio interview with Guy Benson.

“These are people that do not qualify for asylum, you send them back to their country of origin. What would it take for you to take more of those flights?” he continued.

“His answer was: ‘One simple thing, Tony. I just need the president of the United States to call me. He won’t even call me.’”

Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas made the claim less than a month ago that the border “is secure.” These videos suggest otherwise.

“Look, the border is secure,” he insisted. “We are working to make the border more secure. That has been a historic challenge.”

Mayorkas later admitted, “There is work to be done.”

Preliminary numbers from the Border Patrol show that in July alone there were 232,809 “encounters” at the border, including over 44,000 “gotaways” – individuals who escape into the U.S.

Gonzales responded to Mayorkas’ remarks by suggesting the DHS Secretary was being less than truthful.

“It’s the furthest thing from secure,” he said. “I represent 42% of the southern border. There’s certainly no one in my district who thinks it’s secure.”

He pointed to a tragedy that took place in San Antonio, Texas in June where 53 illegal immigrants were found dead after being trapped in a tractor-trailer that human smugglers abandoned on a dirt road.

It was the deadliest human smuggling incident in modern U.S. history.

56 people on the terror watchlist have been apprehended trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry from October to June.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has been shipping illegal immigrants to so-called ‘sanctuary cities’ to allow them a better feel for why the open southern border causes so many problems.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, who runs one such city, has requested National Guard help in dealing with the influx of illegals being sent to their city.

In a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin last week, Bowser practically begged for help with the illegal immigrant “crisis” befalling her city.

Bowser insists she needs support “to help prevent a prolonged humanitarian crisis in our nation’s capital resulting from the daily arrival of migrants in need of assistance.”

Imagine if she had to watch over 700 migrants in a single day come into D.C. as opposed to a few buses.
