Video Game Rage Turns Deadly in Oklahoma Home

Video game rage ended in a fatal domestic stabbing Sunday night in Oklahoma City, leaving one brother dead and another charged with first-degree murder. Police say the violence erupted after a disagreement during a video game escalated inside a family home.

Oklahoma City police responded around 8:30 p.m. to a reported stabbing near Southeast 44th Street and Bryant Avenue. Officers found 25-year-old Nicholas Spencer suffering from severe stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators say Nicholas Spencer had been playing video games with his younger brother, 19-year-old William Spencer, when the situation turned violent. According to police, William Spencer became angry during the game and stabbed his brother. Authorities said the suspect himself contacted emergency services after the attack.

“The calling person called in and said they had just stabbed their brother, officers got here and found a male with serious stab wounds,” Oklahoma City Police Master Sgt. Rob Robertson said, according to FOX 8.

Police described the incident as a sudden and tragic act of violence inside the home. “Very tragic story,” Master Sgt. Gary Knight said during a news conference. “Two brothers who were playing video games. One became enraged over the game, got mad at the other and simply stabbed him to death.”

Following the stabbing, William Spencer remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police took him into custody, interviewed him, and booked him into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Authorities say he admitted to his role in the killing.

William Spencer was formally charged with first-degree murder and remains in custody at the Oklahoma County Jail on a $10 million bond.
