CNN medical analyst Leana Wen caught in multiple contradictions in video montage.
QUICK FACTS:
- Former Planned Parenthood president and current CNN medical analyst Leana Wen has been found to consistently contradict herself through the pandemic.
- The contradictions were demonstrated in a video montage pieced together from multiple appearances by Wen, and posted to Twitter by conservative commentator Benny Johnson.
- The National Review also published on Wen’s “180-Degree Reversal” on masking, asking of the former Planned Parenthood executive, “what gives?”
MORE ON WEN’S CHANGING OPINION:
- Wen has made numerous appearances and statements throughout the pandemic beginning in early 2020, promoting masking and vaccines.
- According to The National Review, she was promoting triple masking, outdoors as little as seven weeks ago.
- On Jan. 14 she tweeted her support for N95/KN95 masks to be distributed and required in indoor settings.
- However, on Feb. 8 she defended her change in opinion, saying that the “science has changed.”
BACKGROUND:
- Wen has largely mirrored the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation on masking, until recently when she began to back away from the harsh standards.
- The change from Wen isn’t isolated, however, as Fox News reported that Democrats appear to be “scrambling to reverse course on COVID restrictions” ahead of the midterm election.
