Venezuelan Illegals Arrested in New York in Connection to Connecticut Homicide

Two illegal immigrants from Venezuela, suspected to be members of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang, were arrested in Rensselaer, New York, in connection to a homicide in Stamford, Connecticut.

The suspects, Gregory Marlyn Galindez-Trias, 24, and Moises Alejandro Condollo-Urbaneja, 22, were found with two children who were taken into the care of Child Protective Services.

According to a press release from the Rensselaer Chief of Police, the pair was apprehended after using a stolen credit card at the Amtrak station in Rensselaer, which had been taken from Angel Samaniego, the victim of the homicide in Stamford. Samaniego, 59, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Fox News reported that Galindez-Trias had previously been caught and released at the southern border in May 2022, while Condollo-Urbaneja had entered the U.S. as a “gotaway.”

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about border security and the criminal elements entering the country illegally. The Rensselaer police confirmed that ICE was contacted and issued detainers for both suspects.

During their court appearance, Galindez-Trias expressed fear of retaliation from the Tren de Aragua gang if she is jailed. The suspects now face extradition to Stamford, Connecticut, to face charges related to the homicide. This case underscores the growing threat posed by criminal networks infiltrating the U.S. through unchecked immigration, and the need for stronger enforcement to protect American communities.
