The unvaccinated are becoming less worried about Covid-19 over time, as questions are raised about the vaccine’s efficacy.

- Unvaccinated Americans’ concern about the new “Omicron” coronavirus variant plunged at the end of December, according to a new Morning Consult poll, reports Forbes.
- The poll—conducted among 2,220 U.S. adults—showed that concern about Omicron among the unvaccinated dropped from 52% to 44% between Dec 24 and 30.
- However, concern levels among the vaccinated remained relatively unchanged, slightly lowering from 80% to 79%.
- Concern among all respondents went down from 72% to 68%, Forbes highlighted.
- Total respondents who said they’re “very concerned” about coronavirus outbreaks in general declined slightly, from 43% to 41%.
- Morning Consult speculated the plunging concern may at least be partially due to evidence suggesting the variant causes less severe disease than earlier Covid-19 strains.
HIGH INOCULATION RATE & INCREASING COVID CASES RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT VACCINE EFFICACY:
- Google data as of Wednesday showed 62.2% of Americans are fully vaccinated, 74.3% having received at least one jab.
- However, the U.S. just reported nearly one million new coronavirus infections on Monday, the highest daily tally of any country in the world.
- America’s high vaccination rate raises questions about the vaccine’s efficacy, especially considering how, in spite of increasing vaccinations, the Omicron variant “has led to a spike in cases nationwide, with public health data compiled by the New York Times finding cases have gone up by 254% over the past two weeks,” according to Forbes. “[T]he surge in cases has also led to a rise in Covid-19 hospitalizations, with the Times finding U.S. hospitalizations have risen by 51% over the past two weeks,” Forbes went on to note.
- Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis earlier this week said Covid-19 vaccines aren’t preventing Omicron infections, pushing for more monoclonal antibody treatments. “With omicron, the vaccines are not stopping the spread. That’s clear,” DeSantis said Monday at Broward Health Medical Center. “If you look at who’s being infected, vaccinated, boosted, they’re all being infected.” “It didn’t stop it,” he continued. “It doesn’t provide sterilizing immunity, and I think that you just have to be honest with people about that.”
BACKGROUND:
- Pathologist Steve Kirsch recently estimated roughly 1 in 70 vaccinated male students suffer myocarditis, a disease causing inflamation of the heart.
- “I just heard that there’s another case of myocarditis at [Monte Vista Christian School in Watsonville, California], so now there are now 4 cases in 285 vaccinated boys (estimate), bringing the incidence rate to nearly 1 in 70, assuming all the cases are boys (285/4=71.25). This is not rare. This is a disaster,” wrote Kirsch.
- Kirsch had already documented three cases at the school with an enrollment of about 855 students last month.
- “So it’s likely that 1 in 70 teenage boys are affected. That’s not rare. Why isn’t anyone speaking out about this? Is it fear? Of what?” Kirsch asked.
