Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, in a recent interview, stating that Trump lacks the understanding to effectively end the war in Ukraine.
Zelensky also dismissed Vance’s approach as too radical, suggesting Vance advocates for Ukraine to surrender territory.
“With this war, oftentimes, the deeper you look at it the less you understand,” Zelenskyy said. “I’ve seen many leaders who were convinced they knew how to end it tomorrow, and as they waded deeper into it, they realized it’s not that simple.”
Zelensky’s remarks come as he tours the U.S., seeking continued foreign aid as the Biden administration’s term winds down, including a visit to a Pennsylvania ammunition factory reportedly made with U.S. taxpayer resources.
