U.S. May Be Funding ‘Vicious Anti-Semitic Neo-Nazis’ with Aid to Ukraine: Rep. Gosar

Republican Representative Paul Gosar (AZ) has expressed serious concerns about the ongoing U.S. aid to Ukraine.

In a letter addressed to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin obtained by Sputnik News, dated September 20, Gosar questioned whether the aid might be indirectly supporting Ukrainian neo-Nazi groups, namely the Azov Battalion.

The Congressman emphasized, “It is immoral and illegal for the United States to send money to a Nazi regime.”

The concerns revolve around Section 8138 of Public Law 117-328, which explicitly forbids the allocation of U.S. funds to the Azov Battalion, a unit notorious for its neo-Nazi affiliations and alleged human rights abuses.

Despite its controversial reputation, the Battalion has been integrated into the Ukrainian military and National Guard.

Gosar noted in his letter that the Battalion’s continuous existence and its incorporation into official military structures raises legal and ethical questions about U.S. aid to Ukraine.

Gosar further highlighted the existence of several “spinoff units” from Azov, such as the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, which serves as a component of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He stated, “Thus, US aid of any type sent to Ukraine is being delivered, in contravention of the law, to this Nazi battalion.”

This revelation comes after the Biden administration’s sustained support to the government in Kiev, totaling at least $113 billion, in response to the intensification of the Ukrainian conflict in February 2022.

The administration’s commitment to providing aid has raised eyebrows among several members of Congress, who question the justification of such extensive expenditure from American taxpayers.

Gosar emphasized the urgency of ensuring transparency regarding the aid allocation, considering President Biden’s recent call for an additional $24 billion to be directed to Ukraine.

He underscored the need for clarity on “how much of this sum has been allocated to vicious anti-Semitic neo-Nazis,” given the substantial financial support from the U.S. government.

While the official narrative portrays the Ukrainian government as a proponent of democratic values and freedom, increasing revelations indicate the presence of neo-Nazi elements within its military forces, engaging in routine human rights abuses.

Gosar described the situation as dire, stating that, in addition to contributing billions to “the authoritarian and corrupt Kiev regime,” the potential exploitation of federal law technicalities by Ukraine to channel U.S. security assistance to neo-Nazi elements is even more alarming.
