Two individuals, Jaqueline Randall and Timothy Creech, were arrested in Camarillo, California after authorities uncovered a significant weapons cache in a storage unit. The investigation began in February when detectives from the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) learned of an assault involving an assault weapon. Randall was identified as a suspect, and a search warrant was executed in early March at her residence, car, and property.
On March 11, Randall was detained in her vehicle along with Creech, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing ammunition. During a search of the vehicle, detectives found ammunition and methamphetamine. A subsequent search of Randall’s home led to the discovery of a 9mm handgun, hundreds of rounds of various ammunition, and several high-capacity magazines for rifles and pistols.
Further investigation revealed that a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and magazines had been moved to a storage unit. When detectives searched the unit, they uncovered 42 firearms, including an Armalite AR-50 anti-materiel rifle chambered in .50 caliber BMG, an Intratec TEC-9, and an AK-47 style rifle with a bayonet and collapsible stock. In addition, thousands of rounds of various ammunition and hundreds of high-capacity magazines were also seized.
This rifle is “designed and engineered specifically to engage and destroy vehicles, aircraft, fortifications and other hardened targets which require a high level of penetration and stopping power,” the VCSO explained.
Authorities explained that the term “anti-materiel” refers to firearms designed for destroying vehicles, aircraft, and other fortified targets due to their high penetration and stopping power. Randall was arrested in connection with the weapons cache.
