Trumpworld Launches New Super PAC to Boost His Midterm Candidates

Top advisers in Donald Trump’s orbit have launched a political action committee geared toward spending the former president’s massive war chest on his preferred midterm election hopefuls.

MAGA Inc., as it’s named, will help Trump-endorsed Republicans in the homestretch of their races, an infusion of cash battleground Republican candidates sorely need as they run fundraising deficits relative to their Democratic rivals.

“President Trump is committed to saving America, and Make America Great Again, Inc. will ensure that is achieved at the ballot box in November and beyond,” Taylor Budowich, a Trump spokesman, told Politico.

MAGA Inc. will be able to tap the roughly $100 million that Trump’s Save America PAC has raised since he left office. Unlike Save America, MAGA Inc. can spend without restraint on campaigns both in the 2022 midterm elections and Trump’s oft-teased 2024 presidential bid, should he choose to run.

Budowich, Trump’s communications director since he left office, will oversee the PAC. Republican operative Chris LaCivita, who formerly directed the largest pro-Trump super PAC in 2020, will serve as chief strategist.

Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has been steering campaign spending in key Senate races as the GOP tries to net one seat in the upper chamber. His associated PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund, has canceled ad buys in Arizona, a Republican pickup opportunity for the Senate, in favor of seats more likely to flip in Nevada, Georgia, and New Hampshire. One source told Politico he would welcome the influx of resources from Trump.

Trump is likely hoping to cement his legacy as a kingmaker within the Republican Party during the midterm elections, and the PAC’s creation reportedly comes with his blessing. The former president’s endorsement success rate in the primaries topped 90%, according to a Washington Examiner analysis.
