Trump’s Young Hero DJ Daniel Faces New Cancer Battle—White House Responds

Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, the 13-year-old Texan honored by President Donald Trump as an honorary U.S. Secret Service agent, has been diagnosed with three new tumors, according to his father, Theodis Daniel. This development comes just two months after DJ was recognized during Trump’s March address to Congress for his inspiring battle against terminal brain and spinal cancer.

Diagnosed in 2018 and initially given five months to live, DJ has defied expectations, enduring over 13 brain surgeries. His dream of becoming a police officer led him to be sworn in by 1,351 law enforcement agencies across the nation. In March, President Trump elevated DJ’s recognition by appointing him as an honorary Secret Service agent, calling him “a true legend.”

Following the announcement of DJ’s new diagnosis, the White House expressed support, stating, “We’re lifting up Agent DJ Daniel in prayer after his dad, Theodis, shared that DJ is now facing three new tumors.” The message praised DJ as “one of the strongest, bravest young men.”

Despite the challenging news, DJ remains resilient. His father noted that DJ is “happy, vibrant,” and continues to inspire those around him with his humor and determination. The family is exploring experimental treatments and remains hopeful.
