President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team announced Tuesday that it has reached a memorandum of understanding with the Biden administration, formally kicking off the transfer of power ahead of the January inauguration.
In a press release, the team emphasized that the transition will function as a “self-sufficient organization” with a focus on efficiency. It also highlighted existing measures to ensure the secure handling of information, stating that “additional government bureaucratic oversight” will not be necessary.
The team also confirmed that an ethics plan is already in place and will be made available on the General Services Administration’s website, demonstrating a commitment to transparency throughout the process.
This marks a significant step in preparing for Trump’s second term, as his administration begins organizing personnel, policy initiatives, and operational strategies.
“After completing the selection process of his incoming Cabinet, President-elect Trump is entering the next phase of his administration’s transition by executing a Memorandum of Understanding with President Joe Biden’s White House,” Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles, announced in a press release.
“This engagement allows our intended Cabinet nominees to begin critical preparations, including the deployment of landing teams to every department and agency, and complete the orderly transition of power.”
