Trump to Hold First Public Campaign Event in South Carolina, Announces Policy-Focused Forums to Kick Off 2024 White House Run

Former President Donald Trump will kick off his 2024 campaign with a visit to South Carolina, a key state in the Republican primary race, according to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

According to those involved in the planning, the event will take place on Jan 28 in Columbia and will be a smaller gathering with supporters, rather than one of his signature large rallies.

“The campaign has been building out its infrastructure and expanding its team for the past few months—doing the necessary work that may not always be public-facing,” said spokesman Steven Cheung.

“This is the perfect time to start doing events in early primary states like South Carolina and show that President Trump is the only one who can stop the left’s radical agenda and take back the White House,” he added.

Additionally, the campaign will be announcing a series of policy-focused forums on issues such as border security, crime, and foreign policy, per WSJ.

Large rallies are not planned until later in the year as the campaign continues to build out teams in key states.

The campaign’s headquarters will be based in West Palm Beach, Florida where Trump’s senior advisers are currently meeting to plan the next steps.
