Trump Supports Pelosi Prosecution Over Visa Stock Trade

Former President Donald Trump voiced support for the prosecution of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi following reports that her husband, Paul Pelosi, sold over $500,000 in Visa stock before the Department of Justice filed an antitrust lawsuit against the company.

“Nancy Pelosi has a little problem because her husband sold their Visa stock – they had a lot of Visa stock – one day before it was announced that Visa is being sued by the Department of Justice,” Trump said during a press conference at Trump Tower.

“Think of that. Nancy Pelosi sold vast amounts of Visa stock one day before the big lawsuit that we all read about a few days ago,” he said. “You think it was luck? I don’t.”

The DOJ accused Visa of stifling competition through high fees and paying off rivals.

“She should be prosecuted,” Trump said. “Nancy Pelosi should be prosecuted for that.”

Trump’s comments come amid increasing scrutiny of insider trading allegations involving members of Congress and their families.
