Trump Selects ER Doctor Janette Nesheiwat as Surgeon General

President-elect Donald Trump has selected Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, an emergency physician and disaster relief expert, to serve as the next Surgeon General, according to the New York Post.

Dr. Nesheiwat, well-known as the medical director for CityMD urgent care clinics and a Fox News medical contributor, has garnered widespread recognition for her leadership during critical healthcare crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump lauded Dr. Nesheiwat as a “fierce advocate” for preventive medicine and affordable healthcare, citing her dedication to saving lives and her unwavering service to the nation.

Her extensive experience includes providing care in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the Joplin tornado and serving with the Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Assistance Relief Team, delivering medical aid in some of the world’s most challenging situations.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Nesheiwat worked on the front lines in one of the country’s hardest-hit regions, showcasing her ability to lead under pressure.

Beyond her disaster relief efforts, she has been a strong voice for public health, emphasizing preventive care and healthy living as essential tools for addressing the nation’s healthcare challenges.
