Trump’s statement was based on internal files released from Twitter showing evidence that major political players colluded with the tech giant to censor, suspend, and remove “disinformation” on the platform preceding the 2020 election. Musk shared a link to writer Matt Taibbi, who explained the documents in a series of tweets. “By 2020, requests from connected actors to delete tweets were routine,” he wrote. “One executive would write to another: ‘More to review from the Biden team.’ The reply would come back: ‘Handled.’”
