Trump Responds to Jan 6 Committee Prime Time Hearings

Trump says protest was the “greatest movement” in the nation’s history.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Former President Donald Trump spoke out about the Jan. 6 committee’s public revelation of previously closed-door hearings.
  • Trump spoke out on Truth Social, attacking the validity of the committee and heaping praise on his supporters.
  • According to Trump, the committee is supporting the narrative from the mainstream media about the nefarious intent of the Jan. 6 rally.
  • Additionally, Trump said the news media has been unwilling to report the size of the crowd that came out in support of him in as the election certification went forward.
  • The former president went on to target House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, for ignoring his recommendation that they send the National Guard to the protest to keep it in check.
TRUMP’S COMMENTS:
  • “The Unselect Committee didn’t spend one minute studying the reason that people went to Washington, D.C., in massive numbers, far greater than the Fake News Media is willing to report, or that the Unselects are willing to even mention,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
  • “Because January 6th was not simply a protest, it represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country to Make America Great Again,” Trump wrote, reiterating his frustration with the select committee.
  • “Crazy Nancy Pelosi turned down the offer, she didn’t like the way it looked. Likewise, the Mayor of DC. Had they taken up the offer, there would have been no January 6th. The Unselects have ruled Pelosi ‘off limits, no questions.’ The hearing is another political HOAX to counter Inflation ect.”
BACKGROUND:
