President Trump doubled down on his plan to send a $5,000 dividend payment to Americans should Republicans win the midterm elections.
“We’re taking in hundreds of billions of dollars of profits. It’s one of the reasons I can offer if Republicans win the House and the Senate, $5,000 to every adult,” he told reporters. “We can do it and the Democrats can’t, because the Democrats don’t have any income and they’re going to drive us into a depression. They won’t have any money.”
President Trump announced the dividend plan earlier this month. “If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them, because of our economic success … I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000.”
Russell Vought, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, confirmed to The Daily Signal that the administration is deliberately holding back specifics until Republicans secure their congressional majorities. “I think there’s a genius involved in what the president’s articulating and, you know, we’ll be ready when the moment comes,” Vought said.
“We’re bringing in trillions of dollars in tariff revenues. We made astronomical savings with regard to the deficit in the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill.’ I think these things are able to help us with deficit reduction. And, you know, we’ll have that conversation,” he explained.
President Trump has also declared that his administration will provide $500 rebate checks to nearly 1 million people who were negatively affected by Obamacare. In a video shared through the White House’s social media, Trump said, “Our administration has discovered that under ‘Sleepy’ Joe Biden, American households buying health insurance through the Obamacare exchange, which is a disaster, and the healthcare.gov, were massively overcharged, to put it mildly. They were forced to pay excessive fees totaling at least $500 million.”
“Our Administration is doing the right thing and giving the money back to the people who were wrongly ripped off,” Trump added. “Nearly 1 million hardworking Americans in 30 states will soon be getting refunds of $500 each, with a check sent to their home address.”
