Trump’s Administration to Recognize Only Two Genders

On January 20, 2025, President Donald Trump gave his inaugural address after taking the oath of office. In his address, President Trump stated that it will be the “official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female.”

Influencers and conservative commentators have lauded this move. Talk show host Graham Allen expressed his support on social media, stating, “The radical woke gender ideology is DEAD.” Similarly, conservative influencer Liz Wheeler commented, “Truth is winning!”

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman also praised the executive order, stating that it would “bring sanity after four years of attacks on women’s sports, safety and privacy.” Blakeman has previously implemented policies banning transgender athletes from participating in girls’ sports within his jurisdiction.

This executive action aligns with President Trump’s campaign promises to address issues related to gender identity and expression. During his inaugural address, he declared, “As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female.”

While supporters view this move as a return to traditional values, critics argue that it undermines the rights of transgender and non-binary individuals. Civil rights organizations are expected to challenge the order in court, citing concerns over discrimination and the rollback of protections for LGBTQ+ communities.

President Trump has vowed to remove gender ideology from federal facilities as well as revoke DEI practices. The acknowledgement of there only being two genders is step one for the new president in reaching these goals.
